Life coaching is more than just business consulting or counseling. It involves addressing personal and professional conditions, and choosing a course of action to transform your life into the way you wanted it to be. In finding a life coach, it’s important to consider some things.
- Certification
- Life coaching require a very specific set of skills. It is a profession that is backed by a foundation of training from qualified institutions. Years of training from some other field, say, psychology, is not enough to be qualified as a life coach. If you want to have your own life coach, make sure that you are hiring someone who has formal training and qualifications.
- References
- You’d know that a life coach would be effective in introducing significant changes in your life if he has already done this before with other satisfied and happy clients. His references themselves will be his sort of calling card.
- Personality
- Avail of a sample session if there is one being offered. Before hiring a potential life coach, it is important to gauge how well the two of you will be working together. You must be comfortable with him to be able to develop the trust needed in establishing successful coaching.
